thoughts:
Don’t believe everything you think.
You never stay put at any stage, you either advance or slip back.
rewinding time:
Began swimming at age five. Won a couple of races across the pool, and I like winning, so I kept on swimming.
Fast forward some years, and I won my first running race in grade four. So now swimming and running became pretty much everyday routine.
I did Biathlon right through my school years, which set me up nicely for the triathlons that followed.
Schooling was done at Grey College in Bloemfontein right through to matric.
I worked my way through all the grades though without too much trouble.
I started doing triathlons competitively in grade 10. Three years later I finished 4th at the Triathlon World’s. After that I won numerous national junior and u/23 titles, working my way up to the Elite ranks.
Continued my studies at University of the Freestate, obtaining my degree in Exercise and Nutrition.
Packed my bags for Europe after varsity to do some serious racing for a german team. I spent four months in Germany and all I got was some mediocre results, BUT a lot of valuable experience.
I went back to Germany the following year, and achieved some good top 10 placing in most of my races.
Right now I am doing races all over the globe, just loving every moment of it.
